Role

We are hiring a Chief of Staff, Technology to the CTO to drive execution, operational rigor, and accountability across the Engineering and Data Science organizations. You will embed deeply in the day-to-day mechanics of the technology team, ensuring priorities are clear, projects ship on time, and the organization scales with discipline. Acting as an extension of the CTO, you will translate strategy into execution, track progress relentlessly, and remove bottlenecks before they slow the team down.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution and operational excellence by translating CTO priorities into clear, trackable initiatives, ensuring projects progress on time, managing operational cadences, identifying risks, and improving processes.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment among Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams on priorities, hiring plans, and strategic initiatives, tracking dependencies, and ensuring accountability from meetings.
• Provide strategic and analytical support through synthesizing inputs for decision-making, developing data-driven insights, preparing executive materials, and supporting long-term planning including org design and capacity planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years in Engineering, Technical Program Management, Product, or similar execution-heavy roles.
• Experience in high-growth startup environments.
• Strong technical fluency to engage with engineers and data scientists.
• Proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives from idea to execution.
• High ownership and bias for action.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or scaling engineering operating processes.
• Familiarity with SaaS and/or financial services products.
• Background in consulting or strategy.
• Based in Pacific time or willing to work Pacific time hours.
• Located in San Francisco Bay Area with preference for in-office work.

Compensation

$180,000 - $230,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
