As we scale our operations, we are seeking a visionary technical leader to join our executive team.
Role Overview
The CTO will serve as the senior-most technical leader at TARUS, owning the technology vision, infrastructure, and innovation roadmap. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to align technology strategy with business goals — driving operational efficiency, data security, and scalable systems across our ITAD operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company's overall technology strategy and roadmap
- Oversee IT infrastructure, internal systems, and cybersecurity posture
- Lead development and maintenance of proprietary ITAD tracking and inventory management platforms
- Ensure data sanitization and destruction processes meet industry compliance standards (NIST, R2, ISO)
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve operational workflows
- Build and manage a high-performing engineering and IT team
- Partner with operations to optimize device intake, grading, and resale pipelines through technology
- Maintain vendor relationships with hardware, software, and logistics partners
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a senior technology leadership role (CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent)
- Strong background in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems
- Experience in ITAD, electronics refurbishment, supply chain, or logistics technology preferred
- Proven ability to build, scale, and lead technical teams
- Familiarity with data destruction compliance standards (NIST 800-88, DoD 5220.22-M)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree a plus
