Chief of Staff, Project Manager

The Model Risk Office (MROf) governs Capital One's entire model portfolio, enabling long-term, sustainable success. MROf owns model policy and works across Data Science, Business, Risk Management, and Technology to ensure sound modeling practices, innovation, and regulatory compliance.

As a CoS Project Manager on the Chief of Staff team, you will shape internal management operations for a >200 associate organization and provide leverage to senior leadership. This high visibility role is instrumental in maximizing impact and effectiveness, and offers an Assistant Chief of Staff opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage budget and headcount processes
  • Lead annual strategic planning
  • Coordinate preparation cycles for leadership ceremonies: Monthly Business Reviews, Town Halls, quarterly regulatory reviews, executive forums, board reporting, cross-functional groups
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and transparency strategy/agenda for strategic priorities delivery
  • Lead talent strategy and management cycles
  • Lead/support special projects as business needs arise

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years in project, process, or event management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in operational or project management office environments
  • 2+ years supporting senior/executive leadership
  • 2+ years in consulting or project-based strategy/transformation
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Experience with second-line Business Risk organizations and Model Risk concepts
  • Experience managing FP&A and budgeting cycles

Compensation

McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 annually for Manager, Project Management

Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 annually for Manager, Project Management

This role is eligible for performance-based incentives including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
