Chief of Staff (Numerate Generalist)

The Mission

Established in 2014, Fuza exists to solve "messy" problems. We specialize in simplifying complexity for Social Housing leaders, using data and AI to drive high-stakes decisions. We don't just write reports or provide advice; we build the tools, the internal capability within our clients, and the digital/data/AI strategy that aims to modernise an entire sector. So that the UK stands a chance of providing enough decent homes that people can afford... There are over 1.3m families on the social housing waiting list.

The Role: The "Engine" of Fuza

We are looking for a Polymath. This isn't a standard grad scheme; it’s a front-row seat to building a sector capability. You will work directly with the founders to:

• Build & Ship: Develop open-source data science products and internal tools (we live in Python, so you should too). You'll also shepherd volunteers contributing to the open source housingai.org repos.
• Solve & Strategize: Take a "fuzzy" problem from a housing board and turn it into a clear, data-backed recommendation.
• Scale the Founders: You are here to free up founder time and deliver more deeply than they can alone. Whether it’s conducting deep-dive research or managing a cross-functional project, you own the execution.
• Community Building: Help us grow our footprint by engaging with the "Tech for Good" and Social Housing ecosystems.

Who You Are

• Numerate & Technical: You aren't just "not scared" of coding, you enjoy automating the boring stuff and find insights in the noise.
• Well trained: You have discipline to work and don't need to be supervised closely. You've probably graduated from a very good university.
• An Adaptable Researcher: You can pivot from writing code to drafting a paper about systems thinking without losing momentum.
• Lived Experience: If you have a background or a personal connection to Social Housing, or a passion for making it better, we want to hear about it.
• Autonomous: You don't wait for a ticket to be assigned. You see a gap in Fuza's delivery of it's mission and you plug it. You see an opportunity to grow your skills or your impact, and you go for it. You don't struggle alone, you know when you need to ask for help.
