Chief of Staff (Maternity leave cover – 6-month fixed-term contract)
About the role
FORMANCE is seeking a Chief of Staff to work closely with the founders and help drive the company’s key priorities.
You will help coordinate strategic and operational initiatives across teams, ensure alignment on priorities, and support the leadership team in making and executing decisions.
The role spans strategy, operations, finance, and governance, including board reporting, investor updates, compliance, and cross-team projects.
The person will collaborate closely with Formance's CEO, investors, executive assistant, and each team leader, as well as outsourced finance, accounting, and legal partners
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong ownership and the ability to operate in a fast-moving startup environment.
What you’ll do
Investor relations & company governance
- Prepare and coordinate investor reporting (monthly flash reports, business and financial KPIs).
- Own the Board reporting process: structure the board deck, coordinate inputs across teams, and ensure clarity of the narrative.
- Organize Board meetings and strategic committees (agenda, materials, follow-ups).
- Ensure smooth communication between the leadership team and investors.
- Build and maintain internal reporting and decision-making tools for leadership.
Cross-functional execution
- Ensure seamless coordination between outsourced finance, accounting, and legal partners and internal reporting - maintaining a single source of truth across books, cap table, financials, and investor-facing materials. This will be the foundation for a future Series B (Due Diligence).
- Act as a central coordination point across teams (Engineering, Product, Sales, Finance, Operations).
- Help structure and drive key cross-functional projects. Identify execution bottlenecks and help unblock teams.
- Track OKRs, KPIs and company priorities to ensure alignment across the organization.
Compliance & company operations
- Maintain current company’s compliance and security programs, including:
- SOC 2 Type II
- ISO 27001
- Customer security and compliance audits
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure controls and policies are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with the sales team to review prospects' legal contracts before signature.
- Help structure internal processes as the company grows.
Internal communication & operational clarity
- Help ensure information flows efficiently across teams.
- Prepare internal updates and materials around company priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain clear documentation of key decisions and company processes.

- Ability to drive projects across multiple teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment
- High level of ownership and reliability
You
- like turning chaos into structure
- are comfortable working directly with founders
- can move between strategy and execution
- are able to context-switch across finance, product, ops and compliance
- care about making the company run better every week
