Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, for a Chief of Staff as a member of the leadership team. This is a true Chief of Staff position driving organizational effectiveness — not an administrative assistant role. You'll manage cross-functional initiatives, optimize company operations, and ensure flawless execution across all workstreams. This role requires someone who operates at both the strategic and tactical level, bringing innovation, process discipline, and relentless hustle to accelerate Exponent's growth.

What You'll Do & Qualifications

• Drive organizational execution: Own critical company-wide initiatives, coordinate across teams, and deliver results. From internal operations and fundraising support to go-to-market execution — take ownership of what needs to get done.
• Manage company operations: Oversee operational infrastructure including planning cycles, board materials, and cross-functional coordination — ensuring the organization runs smoothly at scale.
• Outstanding communication and leadership: Work with the leadership team to translate vision into action while optimizing how we work. Identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and implement systems that make us faster and leaner. Leverage AI and innovative tools while managing priorities and solving high-impact problems.
• Extreme hustle and growth mindset: Relentless work ethic with the drive to move fast, think creatively, and constantly find ways to improve. Startup operator DNA with experience thriving in high-growth, ambiguous environments.
• Relevant background: 3–5+ years in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or high-growth startup operations. Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services is a strong plus. Previous Chief of Staff or operations leadership experience at a Series A/B company ideal.
